Illustration for Texting / Sexting Acronyms Defined for Parents

With today’s child being more technologically advanced than some parents, it is more important than ever that parents try to stay up to date on the acronyms being used by their children. This is by no means a complete list of acronyms currently being used as kids continually change them as more parents catch on. Children as young as 10 years old, have been caught by their parents using some of these acronyms or had one of these acronyms sent to them in an online message by a predator. Please do not ever get lulled into a false sense of security and think your child will never be exposed.

Please be THAT parent, and check your child’s text and email messages. You will have plenty of time to be their friend later in life. Right now, they need you to parent and set boundaries!
