With today’s child being more technologically advanced than some parents, it is more important than ever that parents try to stay up to date on the acronyms being used by their children. The acronyms may sometimes change over time or take on new meanings, but we will define some of the most common ones in use by kids today. We must warn you that some of the acronyms and their meaning are extremely crude and disturbing, but your child’s health and welfare are more important.

This is by no means a complete list of acronyms currently being used as kids continually change them as more parents catch on. Children as young as 10 years old, have been caught by their parents using some of these acronyms or had one of these acronyms sent to them in an online message by a predator. Please do not ever get lulled into a false sense of security and think your child will never be exposed.
Please be THAT parent, and check your child’s text and email messages. You will have plenty of time to be their friend later in life. Right now, they need you to parent and set boundaries!
