We are pleased to feature the following School Districts and Schools who are on their way to becoming "Kindness Certified." To become "Kindness Certified", a school must participate in the Great Kindness Challenge held each year in January. All the students are given a checklist of "Acts of Kindness" that they try to complete during the week. At the end of the week, all the acts are tallied and submitted to the Great Kindness Challenge Organization. In 2016, over 5 million children participated worldwide and completed 250,718,100 acts of kindness!
This year the Southwest Independent School District (SWISD) in San Antonio, Texas, is gearing up to participate in the Great Kindness Challenge being held January 23-27, 2017. "I encourage all schools, school districts and education centers to become Kindness Certified. In 2016, over 5 million children completed 250 million acts of kindness during the Great Kindness Challenge Week.
This year The Great Kindness Challenge will be held January 23-27, 2017. So you have plenty of time to register your school for free! Please encourage all of your kids to participate and you may even challenge a neighboring school to see who has more acts of kindness at the end of the week.
The purpose of this challenge is to foster an environment that will encourage kindness year around and discourage bullying.
Please visit www.greatkindnesschallenge.org to register and for more information. I am very honored to named one of the Kindness Ambassadors for the program and will help you in anyway to get started!" - Sharon M. Blacknall, Founder of Military Veterans Against Child Abuse
